newHickLogoThank you to Kenneth Arnold, Class of 1965, for contacting us. Although the biography was hidden on the website, we thought our readers would like to read about The Dynamics, so we are featuring it here this month. We have a new article from Dr. Kumpikas and a new addition to Ron Wencer's Ancient Hixtory: an article about Leon Galloway! The Hicksville Gregory Museum is in financial distress. Thank you to Ryan Vicino for the article and information about how you can help.  We are happy our readers are using the Member Comments, and they appear at the end of this month's newsletter.  When you are logged into the site, scroll to the bottom of an article and leave us a comment! I attended Brandeis University after high school and earned a BA degree. I then attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education where I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT). Degree. I wanted to pursue a career in teaching and found a job as a Junior High School Music Teacher after receiving my MAT.

That didn't last long as I had this passion for singing so left teaching and was involved with classical music for 20 years. Around the same time, in 1969, I married Bernard Basescu. Originally, Bernard and I met in NYC. We had two children and have one grandchild.

We separated back in 1988 and later divorced.

I returned to education only this time as an administrator. I was director of admissions at an independent NYC day school for 22 years.

When I attended our 50 Year reunion in September, I was semi-retired working as a consultant for a non-profit organization. I'm delighted at being a grandma.

Current Hobbies...Flutist...beginning Cellist ...theater, dance and concert goer...Yankee Fan...NYC Fan...though I do love to get away, too!

Finally, if I had to do it all over again, I would trust my own judgment more and would take more risks. But, if it took the life I lived to bring me to this place, then I accept it fully!
